1963 BELLE VIEW #233.

Dad racing at Belle View manchester in 1963. The car was self built..(with a few friends) outside in the open often welding bits on whilst the snow was falling...... this would have been around xmas of1962. The car was powered by Jaguar 6cyl with a little work done to the engine (some trick cams).Dad's seen here entertaining the crowds with his usual Hi- jinks !

1985 BELLE-VIEW...F1

Below is the second F1 I drove #180, an ex John Lund #53 car seen here some 22 years after the picture above was taken, also at belle view manchester. I couldn't belive that I was on the raceway racing against some of the drivers I had watched from the other side of the fence for some 20 years. They included Stuart Smith,Mike Close, Len Wolfefden, Ray Tildsley and Frankie Wainman. First time out I was placed 2nd at Bradford  (shale) and then a win at Aycliffe  (tarmac) followed a few meetings later.

JACK LORD SNR. # 777 ( BELOW ).2002

The last self built v8 stocker from the lordy snr. stables. Raced with some success before it went to Alex Chapman #134 who took it to GOLD. A flat bed chassis with indipendant front suspension and 4 linked rear end.

It's with great sadness that I have to say "DAD" Jack Lord snr. passed away this year (2013) in his 79th  year. He was hoping to drive his latest acquisition and winter re-build project at Warton outlaw track this year (2013) well that's not going to happen now. Thanks Dad for a great upbringing and being a great role model. We had some epic times, not just racing but fecin about as fathers and sons should do. Sadly dad you are going to be missed, and for me Sundays at Warton and Stock Car racing can never be the same, rest in peace dad ... f1 #233. #521, #80, f2 #772, #606, "Outlaws" #777.

Ace # 234 ...( above ).2008/9

The latest car from the "234"race stables ...based on an american dirt stocker, its powered by an all alloy buick v8, race cam and headers and a 4 barrel holly, this engine gives out about 250 bhp ( guess ). The car is shown in its 2010 colours as "ace" has won the 2009 "Warton Stock Car Championship" giving him the entitlement to paint his roof silver...as ever the showman the whole car was painted silver! And an added bonus, by taking the championship he put the lordy name into the Warton history books...as we are the first brothers to have won the
" TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP" title in wartons 35 year history!.... The car was sold on to "BIG DADDY BENTHAM #5" who raced it sporadically in 2011 finally selling it on again to rookie racer #37 Andy Sinclair for the 2012 season ....god knows what colour next.

Lordy # 80 (above ).2006

This pinto powered southern stocker took me to 3rd in the points and 2nd in the silver top championship in the 2006 season. The car was powered by a 2.1 pinto (ford), it had an unknown cam, standard valves and a single carb.....and was without doubt the best handling car i've ever driven. The car is now in the hands of "Luggi" aka Anthony Holgate# 133 and is powered by a durotech ford!

This car was a rebuilt brisca/outlaw car from the  "Lordy #777 snr" stables. When aquired it was powered buy a ford pinto...So then it was decided that a big V8 Buick engine was to be shoe horned in and fitted with a big cam, headers and a "Carter " 4 barrell race carb, this was done to great effect. It had in-board suspension and took me to victory in the '96 Silver Top Championships at Warton Raceway( the first none ford to win). I bought the car from dad in 1997, raced it at a few meetings and then sold it midd season to" Dave Lythgoe" #240 an ex banger driver. It's very similar to "ace's" car at the top of the page as it was also a copy of an american dirt car........ just 13 years earlier!

Race car for 2009/10/11 (above)

The last car to enter the " Lordy 777 " stables will be the ex Johnny Clarkson stocker...built in the late 90's early 2000, not sure of this date. Once again it's powered by the "Buick" V8 and featuring a double chassis similar to my championship winning car of 96. It was built by Pete Hall but has been owned by a few people since then. It's best known as the Johnny#5 car as he took it to gold and silver top in the early part of this century. It's had an extensive re-build during /09, including a re-think on the cooling system, spring and axle settings and a total electrical rewire. By championship day sept 2009 it was on the boil and gave brother jason a run for his money ...I was leading for most of the race after battling from grid place seven only to be side lined BY THE EVENTUAL WINNER "ACE" and with only four laps to go...a great race.
The car was bought from dad by me at the end of 2009 and I contested the 2010 season, @ the xmas meeting we had heat and final wins in the wet, It was metal mainia next... and once again a heat win and the"dash for cash".This year (2010) we are looking for a top 6 finish, but by round 4/5 we should be at the top end of the points table, well thats the script i'm working off...ha!
.. first meeting proper "Easter sunday"

At the end of 2010 we managed to finish 4th in the points and 3rd in the championship race and took the "MARINE TROPHY"

At the end of 2011 we managed to finish 10th in the points and 4th in the championship race AND TOOK THE "MARINE TROPHY" ....again!

The "Lintern" special .Powered by Ford "ZETEC" 2012. (above)

So here we are for 2012, another chassis and another engine, back to ford, this time with a twin cam zetec 16v on motorcycle carbs, about 180 BHP. A little different to the V8 power but we shall see how it goes. I have raced pinto's, Alfa's, Buick/Rover and Kawasaki at wartons little track over the years so why not another type of engine?
What can we expect, well I will be trying hard as this is looking like my last season racing Warton stockcars, last year we finished blue grade and in10th position overall, although from 6th to 10th places were covered by just 16 points ..... so very close at the end. This year my goal will be to win a feature Final and it would be great to take the "Marine Trophy" again on championship day........ we shall see.
