A mix of modern and historic pictures which show my cars through the years.

old.jpg

My first car, 1983.

Built in the early 80's it was the lightest stock car on the brisca tracks at that time. Powered by a small block 350ci chevy and running transit axles way before anyone had thought to use them. Now most f1 stock cars are running them. Dad ,who built it was a little before his time! It was destroyed a the old bell view when it was hit head on at the end of the straight (by #57 I think) it took out both axles and tore the engine from its mounts. oooooch!

Ex John lund #53 car.

This is an ex John lund car powered by 454ci big block chevy. It may have been driven by George Braithwaite # 92 for a while. The car was shared by me and dad. I had a second place first time out at Bradford odsal staidium  and we had a win at a very wet Ayclife later in the season gaining yellow top. the transporter was an A-type ford coach cut down at the back.

1980's tube car Raced as a..F1 BRISCA

powered by small block "oldsmobile" 330ci

This was another home built round tube stocker built by J.L. Powered by a small block oldsmobile 330ci.It had an interesting front suspension with cross over split beam axle and transit rear. I took this to Warton in the late 80's when the track was still shale ... it wasn't the only F1 to race with the F2 types in the same race at Warton but a rarety none the less ! The picture above shows Jack Lord snr. at Aycliffe mixing it up with Terry Forrester # 414.

The car above was fished out from a shed at the back of Dave Hadwins house and resurected in 2001. The Cuisine World sponsored car was powered with an all alloy twincam 2000cc alfa Romeo engine. It would probably be under weight now but raced for two seasons at carnforth.

Self designed, and chassis built by"ACE". After finding the first f2 stocker I owned and raced rotting away in an old mill I decided to build my own stocker. "ACE" built the chassis to my spec. then I tranfered all the running gear onto it. With an almost standard engine the car climbed through the grades and by the end of the season to red top and gave me 3\4 wins on the way. It finaly went to #8 Mr. Bell and sits at this time in his garden.

An Ex-Martin Lamb 1300cc ford screamer. This is the second car I raced at Warton, it was raced on BRISCA tracks around the country as #52 till spotted under a sheet at the back of a garage in nelson.A bag of money and a repaint saw this wizzing round Warton in the 90's

'96 racing as silver top champ.

Another ex-Brisca car, this time purchased from our very own Ex- Super banger Champ, #14 John Riley. Pinto powered, the car was later fitted with a very rare"Volumex" supercharged Fiat all alloy twincam...dad had a few wins with this car!

Same car as the one opposite but with new sponsors. Eventually sold to a chap in colne who's still got it in his barn (so i'm told)!

championshipcar.jpg

This car was my 1996 silver top winning car, the first stock car at Warton to take the champioship with a V8. The car was prepared by dad (#777) and raced by him prior to 1996. Originaly an f2 with a pinto dad rebuilt the car specialy for carnforth.Totaly unselfishly he set the car up for me to race on championship day in september 1996 and I will always be indebt to him for that!

The only picture I have of the first car I raced at Warton. Pinto powered, ex-BRISCA car, a real tank.It was later raced by John Carlisle # 49, of Longridge. Some 5 years later was spotted at the back of an old mill and all the running gear fitted to another car...(pictured above left)
